Illuminating Istanbul 2025

Our Artblazing tour of Istanbul with Sevan and Sheyda was everything I hoped it would be. Our two leaders were so knowledgeable, they illuminated a culture I knew little about. The architectural and historical sites were well chosen, as were the restaurants. Traveling with a small group of people is delightful, we all make new friends. Artblazing’s “Illuminating Istanbul” tour exceeded my expectations in every way. What a pleasure to be in such competent hands, day after day! Terrific meals and more wonderful experiences than I can keep in my head! Sevan and his sister Sheyda were excellent hosts, and the various guides were all first-rate in their own ways. Plus, Sevan arranged for me to fulfill a long-held dream: A visit to the Göbkli Tepe archaeological site as part of a very long (but totally worth it!) journey to Urfa and back. And two people from our group elected to join me for that 22-hour day! Plus, we made some great new friends.

This itinerary truly lived up to its promise to be "an unforgettable journey through the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of Sicily and Malta." Sevan led us through the past 5000+ years of artifacts left behind (and still intact) and up to the present when now both Palermo and Malta are thriving islands holding the blend of many cultures all living in harmony. It was a very comforting feeling to be in the presence of such a peaceful and proud people. Along with our professional tour guides, Sevan ushered us though every museum and historic site with his wealth of knowledge and passion. And then there's the food! We ate at great restaurants and tried wonderful wines — all while enjoying breathtaking vistas. Did I mention the food? Mama Mia! A truly wonderful experience!

Sevan provided the perfect blend of sharing his knowledge and culture with on point art history and archeological discovery. His companion lecture series prepared us for the delights and wonders we experienced. The itinerary covered everything that I longed to see and learn about. The pace was perfect, and Sevan always accommodated the group. Restaurant choices were delicious and fun!! Our guides were knowledgeable and easy to work with and answered all of our questions. This Sicily Malta trip was my fourth adventure with Sevan. I can’t wait for the next one.
